    Features

With a thin profile of just 0.8"-thick, the Panasonic LUMIX G 14mm f/2.5 ASPH II Lens is a sleek wide-angle prime designed for Micro Four Thirds system cameras. Offering a 28mm-equivalent focal length, this lens takes on a wider-than-normal perspective to benefit its use in a broad variety of shooting situations. A stepping motor provides quick, quiet autofocus performance that is beneficial to both movie and still recording and an inner focusing system maintains the overall lens length during operation for greater responsiveness. This compact and versatile lens is an ideal option for everyday use.

The optical design comprises six elements in five groups, which includes three aspherical elements to minimize chromatic aberrations and distortions for greater image clarity and a reduction in color fringing. Additionally, a multi-coating has been applied to the lens elements to minimize surface reflections, flare, and ghosting for increased contrast and color neutrality. A rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing out-of-focus quality when using selective focus techniques and an all-metal lens mount offers enhanced durability and mounting precision.

    H-H014AK is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for street photography The 14mm lens is great for shooting street photography. It has great depth of field which is something many want for shooting the street. I used it when the Democratic National Convention was held in Charlotte. Crowds of people everywhere and using this lens on a Lumix body I never missed a shot. I often use this lens in uptown Charlotte because it is so sharp and fast to focus. I shot for two weekly news papers for over 10 years, this is one of the best lens that I have ever owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent travel companion The combination of wide angle, low light capability, small size and great image quality, makes this the perfect lens for traveling light. Its size makes even my DMC-G5 pocketable. The wide angle and large aperture is perfect for capturing indoor architecture as well as outdoor panoramas.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very small, sharp, light, & relatively inexpensive When I was looking for a wide-angle prime lens, this one topped my list. At f/2.5, it's not the fastest; but it is a lot less expensive than alternatives in the 12-15mm range for micro four thirds. And being sharp at f/2.5 and very sharp at f/2.8-5.6, it isn't compromising. That said, as with many lenses, there is sample variation with this one. Some copies are better than others. I haven't noticed any flaws with my copy: good centering and sharpness across the frame, good color and contrast... This isn't the best lens you can get. However, it's pretty much equal in image quality to the best sub-$800 zooms I've used at 14mm. While the zooms are a much better value, this lens beats those with its f/2.5 max. aperture and pocketable size and weight. When I want a small set of primes for low-light or discrete photography, this one always comes along and never disappoints me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this lens The 14mm is so small and compact but produces great images for the money. On my GH4 its perfect for medium wide. Used it for stills and video.
