    Features

Micro Four Thirds Digital Interchangeable Lens
    LUMIX G VARIO 7-14mm/F4.0 ASPH.
Featuring Ultra Wide Angle in Compact Size

Interchangeable ultra wide-angle zoom lens, LUMIX G VARIO 7-14mm/F4.0 ASPH. In spite of its impressive wide-angle zoom range of 7-14mm (35mm camera equivalent; 14-28mm), the lens is surprisingly compact and lightweight for casual on-the-go use.

Taking advantage of its wide, 114-degree angle of view, users can easily fit subjects into the frame even when shooting indoors where the distance is limited. The world looks extraordinary when viewed through the new lens, allowing photos and movies to be recorded with a uniquely rich perspective.

This high-performance lens system achieves outstanding compactness by combining 16 lens elements in 12 groups, including two aspherical lenses and four ED lenses. Image resolution is high from corner-to-corner even at the wide-angle setting. It also features F4.0 brightness over the entire zoom range thanks to its large-diameter glass molded lens elements.

When mounted on LUMIX G Micro System Camera, the lens allows use of the advanced contrast AF system, which includes a Face Recognition function, for more convenient, more enjoyable shooting. Seven blades give the aperture a rounded shape that produces an attractively smooth effect in out-of-focus areas when shooting at larger aperture settings.

The LUMIX G VARIO 7-14mm/F4.0 ASPH. lens also features a highly reliable metal mount, and uses multi-coated lens elements that minimize ghosts and flare to further enhance its optical performance. The optimally designed lens hood enables use even under strong sunlight.

    H-F007014 is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Wide Angle for My GH4 I'm so glad that I bough this lens, its wide and pretty sharp at wide open where I try to use it. I've used it on my Panasonic GH2 and GH4 and it did not disappoint. Worth the bucks! Ross

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Lens This lens is super sharp, the colors are beautiful, and it is an especially useful zoom range for wide angles. The quality of the photographs it produces is truly first class, rivaling the German glass from my film days. It is not a heavy lens for the zoom capability it possesses. I use the optional lever from Panasonic for zooming, which does make it even easier to use. This lens has been trouble-free for me and the only negative is the inability to use filters as is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow Have had this lens for about a year, still love it, have always used ultra-wides as my standard lens as it is how I view life, and this lens has become my standard. Pros of course are the very wide to super wide angle of view, sharpness and at f/4.0 throughout the whole zoom range, relatively quick for what it is, a zoom, not a prime, ultra-wide angle lens. Also like the built-in hood, very smart. Cons would be that it is large though small for what it is, could be faster like f/2.8 but then it would probably be even more expensive, do wish the lens shade hood were removable and that you could screw filters in but this would have made it more expensive and even larger. It could also have had better weather sealing but ditto, more expensive and maybe larger and heavier. Use it with my equally marvelous Panasonic GX7 which is a great camera, everything in black, very pro looking. So far my dream combo! I'm thrilled today to have read that Panasonic is continuing their partnership with Leitz and hopefully Leica lenses. My last camera was a Panasonic LX5 with the 24mm f/2.0 Leica lens that is the sharpest optic I've ever had - great combination. Good work Panasonic and Leica!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have for an micro 4/3's DSLR I bought one of these n 2009 for my G1 and use it constantly. An ultrawide lens like this on a DSLR is a rarity, and not to be missed. Truly a fantastic product.

Digital Still Camera Firmware Update Guide.

      1) Preparation before attempting the update.

      A. Make sure the camera's battery is completely charged. If the battery is not completely charged the firmware update will not begin. Format the SD memory card in the camera, then take a couple of pictures.
      B. Turn off the camera.

      2) Copying the Firmware to your memory card.
      A. Download the latest firmware update for your model by clicking on the "Download Ver. X.X " link to a location on your computer (we recommend the "Desktop").
      B. If your computer has a media reader, please insert your formatted SD Card from your camera.
      C. Open the zipped firmware file that you downloaded to the desktop.

      D. For"PC" users, locate your SD Card by clicking on, or opening the"My Computer" or"Computer" on your desktop or your"Start" menu. For"Mac" users, can use"Finder" if the drive does not mount to your desktop.

E."Drag" to Copy and Paste" the .bin file from the opened folder to the drive with the SD Card showing in your"My Computer" window for"PC" users and"Finder" or"Drive" in Macs. This will copy the file to the card.

      F. If you choose to leave the SD Card in your camera, connect the camera to the PC with the USB cable. Turn the camera on and set it to"Playback" mode. Then select"PC" on the LCD screen. Drag the .bin file from the opened folder to the device that either says Panasonic or mass storage to complete the transfer.
