Large 1-inch 20.1-megapixel MOS Sensor The newly incorporated 1-inch 20.1-megapixel High Sensitivity MOS Sensor improves the S/N ratio, making it possible to capture clear images with minimum noise even when shot at ISO12800 / Extended ISO25600. Bright LEICA DC Lens - F2.8-4.0 25-400mm The new LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens is created especially for the DMC-FZ1000. It has an F2.8-4.0 brightness that resists blurring even with telephoto shots, and an angle of view that extends from 25mm wide-angle to 16x optical zoom*. Comprising 15 elements in 11 groups, including 4 ED lenses and 5 aspherical lenses with 8 aspherical surfaces, this advanced lens unit achieves high MTF value. Adoption of 5 aspherical glass lenses achieves beautiful, evenly smooth defocus with invisible edge line, which is made possible by Panasonic's unique aspherical lens mold technology.

Light Speed AF with LUMIX DFD Focus Technology A new linear motor integrated into the focus system achieves approx. 275% faster1 focusing, compared to the conventional DMC-FZ200. In addition new DFD (Depth From Defocus) technology2 shortens the time to set the focus. It instantaneously calculates the distance to the subject by evaluating 2 images with different sharpness levels. As a result, ultra high-speed AF of approx. 0.09 sec3 (wide-end) / approx. 0.171, 4sec (tele-end) is achieved.

5-AXIS Correction / Tilt Correction The HYBRID O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) + with 5-axis correction* gives you blur-less, one-handed video shooting ability. It detects and compensates for the camera's 5 types of movement - horizontal, vertical, axis of rotation, vertical rotation and horizontal rotation. The Level Shot Function* detects the image's horizontal line and maintains it even if the camera is tilted. It takes stable video even in high-angle, blind recording.

Rated 5 out of 5 by A lot of camera In use for over a year and I am still finding ways to use all the features, from high speed video, (slow motion) to wi-fi connectivity, clear and clean night shots, 4K video, one color, 7 shot bracketing for out of camera HDR rendering, fantastic burst mode, and having all controls available with push of a button, visible both through the finder of the LCD screen, not having to go through a touch screen is superb. Rated 4 out of 5 by High Res Stills from Video I am a painter specializing in portraits and seascapes. I use stills from video for my reference materials, but the first still I got from a video on camera was a wonderful photo of my 3 granddgts for my holiday card. The 4K feature is easy to use. You can step frame by frame through the video saving stills. Download goes to Dropbox. I could not get around that, but after viewing the stills on my computer I moved the ones I wanted and deleted the rest. I did spend hours reading the pdf manual trying to decipher the instructions only to later find a brief instruction on a single sheet was in the box with the camera. 4K is a software update to this camera. The speed and picture quality are amazing as is the many features and options available. One point is that the camera options are very complicated and the online help and documentation does not cover all settings so prepared for quite a learning curve. Rated 2 out of 5 by Not Good for Taking Soccer Game Videos This Camera takes great 4k videos under normal conditions. I brought it for taking 4k videos of my daughter's soccer game and hoping getting great photos from it too. It totally failed so far. I can not get the camera to take 4k videos without some flashes(white out) every 2 minutes. Sometimes it flashes every 10 seconds during the game. It is totally unusable. I will try to do some normal HD videos later to see whether it is my user error or just this one is defected. I suspect it is autofocus issues but I can not find any information so far. The ease of use is unreal and the features allow for much more customization than competitor cameras at this price-range. Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing Versatile Camera I have had this camera for a few months now. It is an amazing camera. As an amateur photographer, I do not see a need for DSLR camera with multiple lenses. The zoom capability is great. It just takes amazing pictures out of the box. Video quality is also super nice. I am sticking with 1080p since 4K takes long to edit in a computer at this time of writing. I wish the camera app was simple to use. December 11, 2015
