Features

Perfect for Sports RP-HGS10 headphones feature an active design that's ideal for sports. They are water resistant, and sweat, rain and splashing water can be easily cleaned off with a damp cloth. And because they are not placed in the ears, there is minimal rubbing noise from the cord. Multiple colors are available to match your workout attire.

Ideal for Outdoor and Indoor Use The RP-HGS10 is perfect for outdoor use. Car horns, traffic and other sounds are not blocked because the headphones do not cover your ears. The sides and back feature reflective strips to reflect headlights for greater visibility and safety in low light and at night. When used indoors, surrounding sounds and voices can still be heard while listening to music.

Lightweight and Comfortable The RP-HGS10 headphones are lightweight and easy to slip on and off. Their soft corner cushions fit comfortably next to the ears, and a strong, tangle-resistant cord makes them easy to use, carry and store.

Bone Conduction Technology Panasonic RP-HGS10 headphones use bone conduction technology to transmit sound vibrations directly to the cochlea through the cheek bones. They are worn next to your ears, not placed over them. This unique, outside-the-ear design lets you enjoy music safely while working, relaxing at home or jogging.

Rated 4 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by I highly recommend these earphones. I use them when i workout as the no ears buds are a great feature and extremely comfortable. In the past when i used my traditional headphones after a workout the earpiece would be soaked in sweat and uncomfortable, with the Panasonic they feel great and are an easy clean for next use. Rated 3 out of 5 by Open-Ear Bone Conduction Headphones I like these headphones. I was extremely excited to put these headphones to work for me. I love the idea of open ear, so you can hear your surroundings. This is perfect for the following uses: -Running/Excercising -Work/Office -Errands -Listening around the house while still able to hear your spouse and kids I have tested these headphones out for all of these purposes and came away satisfied with their versatility. These headphones are extremely lightweight and sweat proof. There are two potential negatives I found with these headphones: 1. They don't get very loud. I had my music turned all the way up, but because of the "out of ear" technology, I wasn't fully satisfied with the volume. 2. I sometimes felt nauseous after extended use. Have you ever tried using 3D glasses with your television? Does that sometimes make you feel lightheaded? This happens to me on occasion and I also felt the same sensation when wearing these headphones for a long time. I assume this has to do with the bone conduction technology. I hope this is something I get used to. I have a feeling that most people don't have this problem and would LOVE these headphones for exercise. May 22, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Many good features, a few not so good My first open ear headphones, I found it to have a number of pros and cons. Pros: 1. Sound is very natural. Without the muffled sound with in-the-ear or over-the-ear headphones, it feels more like listening to the radio in the car or at home (without headphones). 2. Great for outdoor running / walking etc. Can still be aware of outside dangers (cars, etc.) but still enjoy the music. 3. Fits really well. I was surprised at how well it fits considering the headphones only sit on top of your ear. I never felt like it was loose or going to fall off even when running. Cons: 1. Volume level! Depending on the device I was using, the volume levels varied. Some were just too low in volume even at the highest volume setting. Other devices were better. Make sure you get them from a place where you can try them out / return them. 2. Open air music does take time to get use to. For the first few days my brain kept on expecting headphones to block out ambient sounds. This made the experience a bit unnatural until I was able to adjust and expect both music and ambient sounds to enter my ears Overall if you have a device that works well with the headphone (sound level wise) and spend a little bit of time getting use to the letting outside sound mix with the headphone music, I think it’s a great outdoor device to have. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great for active life style Great headphones for active lifestyle when you need to be aware of your surroundings. This product does everything the box says. They are not for everyone and every situation. When you want to listen for music but do not want complete isolation that comes with in-ear or over the ear headphones. I use them for the office to listen to music with out distracting other but can still hear phone and other when they walk up to me. Plus you do not have to take them off to have a conversation. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great concept that can help reduce ear drum damage The concept of these headphones is quite interesting. These are the first open ear headphones I have used, and I will admit that they take a little bit of time to get used to. I primarily use over the ear headphones at home, but small ear buds at work or on the go. These headphones fit directly in front of your ear and project vibrations toward your cochlea, and some sound toward your ear. They are much quieter than "normal" headphones, but you have to weigh that with the fact that you can reduce potential ear drum damage vs using other headphones. The audio level of my mp3s vary so I find myself adjusting the volume of my mp3 player so I can actually hear the song while using these headphones. The audio quality of the speakers in the headphones sound very good and do have a nice level of bass though. These headphones work well in a quiet to semi-quiet space, but I don't think they would work well if you were walking down a busy street or in a loud office space. The headphones are very well made and look quite durable. I do wish that the hoop that goes behind your head was adjustable. There is a good 1/2 inch to 1 inch space between the back of my head and headphones. I can rotate the headphones so it hits the back of my neck, but that is a bit uncomfortable to me. I plan to use these in my office job because it will allow me to continue listening to music even when my coworkers come up and want to ask a quick question. I won't have to take my earbuds out or turn off my music, which is a plus. April 25, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Quality headphones but not for everyone These headphones are very easy to use. Never having tried bone conduction headphones, within 30 seconds of opening the box and looking at the picture, I was listening to music. Pros: 1. Good for working out and running if you need to hear your surroundings or have a conversation. 2. Sound is very similar to traditional headphones. I suspected it would be more bass and vibration driven but the sound is suprisingly very high quality. 3. Not bulkier than traditional headphones. Cons: 1. Volume is lower than traditional headphones. 2. If you want headphones that have the ability to also block out outside noise, you will need another set of headphones. 3. If you wear glasses (as I do) the headphones may interfered your glasses. I experienced some pressure on my temples as a result of this. While I like the headphones, I would value them more if they had the flexiblity to be used as open ear and in-ear headphones. This feature would transform this from a specialty product to an every day product for me. June 4, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great New Technology I was very excited to use this new and exciting technology. Open Ear Bone Conduction Headphones. Finally a pair of headphones that I could wear without them going directly into my ear and also allowing me to hear the world around me. The only disappointing thing about this product was the low volume output that is has being used with my smartphone and iPod. I like my music a bit loud and it did not give me what I was looking for in the volume department during working outs or walking where the outside ambient noise was a bit loud. Sitting in a quiet room it is okay. My wife found the headphones to be loud enough for her in all situations. I have found that the volume level is much loader when the headphones are used with my home stereo receiver, where they sounded great during that application of use. Panasonic does note on the packaging that “with some audio players and smartphones, the volume may not be sufficient.” So buyer be aware, that if you are looking for a great fitting pair of headphones that are water /sweat resistant and designed where you can still hear the world around you without having annoying ear buds in your ears or covering your ears and you are not looking to blast the music but only use them as a truly low level background music headphone when using them with your smartphone, then this product is perfect. A side note to Panasonic. I believe that this product is made for the active, exercising, outdoor walking, running, hiking consumer that will be using either a smartphone or media device and that you already understand that it may not output the proper volume levels. So I am not sure where that will leave this product in the market for you. If the volume issue could be fixed for the use with the most popular music players on the market today, you would have a perfect product that is truly evolutionary in the headphone market. I will still use them when I am sitting or laying on my couch listening to my music in a quiet environment and still be able to hear my wife call out to me. She loves that part of this product the best. May 28, 2015
