Horrible Sound, Bulky Design,
Great sound controls
Cool Led flashing lights
Sound quality is absolutely horrible for music and even worse for phone calls.
After extensive testing with different people, different phones, and different situations: on a scale of 1-10 (with 1 being the worse) sound quality is at about a (2).
The TENSION STRAP (which is very important) is absolutely useless, it really is, and this is a deal breaker totally.
Without the tension strap the BATTERY PACK rest on your neck and bounces around when you're moving and that's just a ridiculous design choice.
The tension strap literally has nothing to keep it in place (zoom in on the pictures yourself if you don't believe me).
I wish I could recommend another product that I'm using instead which was less expensive and has way better sound, however my review would probably not get posed and I want you consumers to know the truth.
I've had these for about a year now, and all I can hope is that other consumers don't make the same mistake by buying these.

Great look, Better sound
I always like the look and feel of wrap-around headphones so I had to give these a try. They feel great on and have amazing sound quality. Only wish the battery lasted a little longer but the recharging makes up for that. Would definitely buy again.

Promising Concept but Needs Work
As a stay at home mother, keeping track of my rambunctious 3 year old is my top priority. I hardly have any time to enjoy my favorite music and podcasts. When I was given the opportunity to try out the new Panasonic bone conducting headphones, I jumped right on it. It’s a great way to listen to music and also be aware of your surroundings. The set up was simple and charging the device was fast. It came with one rechargeable battery. (I wish it came with two so you don't have to skip a beat.)
At first, I was a bit skeptical about bone conducting technology. To my surprise, it really does work well. The sound comes in clear and the music sounds amazing. It takes some time to get use to focusing on the music and what is going on around you. I have to imagine it like listening to music on a stereo during a party where listening to music is secondary to what you are really doing.
There are some major comfort issues. I had some problems with adjusting the size to make it fit comfortably. Since the back of the headphones is a bit heavier than the front, when I moved my head up or down, the weight will force the speakers to move forward or back into my ear holes. There is an adjustable band that you can move to make it fit to your head size but the weight doesn’t seem to help in my case. If you wear sunglasses or prescription glasses, like I do, you might find a bit annoying to constantly adjust the headphones and glasses to find the right balance. I think these headphones would be perfect for those who don’t wear any other head gear.
I also had a lot of issues using the headset to make phone calls. The quality was horrendous. I connected via Bluetooth with my iPhone 6 and my end caller sounded like they were talking in a tin can. The end caller also complained about the degraded sound. I tried in many different locations and it was the same each time. I hope Panasonic can improve upon this function in the near future.
Overall, the headset concept is promising but has some major design flaws that need addressing. If they fix these issues, I would definitely pick up the next version.

Listening while jamming
Bone conducting headphones are hands down the coolest improvement to they way we hear music. I was in awe just thinking about how they worked. Tiny drivers vibrating your skull to pass on the sound waves to your inner ear. Awesomeness! Upon opening the package I was very surprised at the quality of the unit and all the care that went into the case. I was kind of bummed I only got one AAA rechargeable battery and that it wasn't a lithium battery. At first I tried putting on the bands to help hold the unit on my head, but I soon figured out it works only with small heads. Also the unit should have notches on it instead of the tiny little dot of plastic to hold the band in place. I did have some trouble with the fitting with my glasses. I think the back end of the unit should be widened 1/2" and narrowed 1/2" in front where the drivers are. This would allow for a better fit and hold. I noticed when the drivers that sit in front of you ear canal were tight on the cheek bones the sound was the clearest and loudest. Even with those down sides I still love them. As an engineer I get called out to our shop and I need to be able to hear my two way radio. With these I can listen to music all day and still hear everything I need to. Sound quality isn't perfect but that's not the point when your allowing surrounding noise in at the same time. Keep in mind, they wouldn't be as good as I thought for riding a motorcycle and listening to music. The motor will over power the sound. But It is great for bicycle riding. You will always hear cars and horns with open ears. Controls on both sides for volume and changing tracks work perfect. Battery life is great. I work 10 hour days and they last through the day. Keep in mind they are not playing straight through the day. Innovative idea that seems a little weird at first but if you give them a chance you'll enjoy them.
