Power Resume - Resume DVD Even After a Power Failure You can resume DVD from where it’s stopped even after a power failure.
  • *There may be about a 10s difference from the actual point where the power was cut off. The power resume feature automatically creates and stores the chapter mark on certain intervals during playback of the contents in order to playback from the latest chapter marked when resumed from power supply problems. Please kindly note this feature does not playback from the exact scene which was interrupted upon power supply problems.

Reviews

DVD-S500 is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great DVD player I have only had this Panasonic DVD player for a couple of weeks or so and can only comment on my satisfaction thus far. This Panasonic replaced a BluRay player that worked fine but would not play DVD-R recorded programs. I have two TVs and wanted a DVD player for each. I own a different non-BluRay player (with HDMI) which has been fine but the remote has been frustrating to operate. Though I miss the HDMI capability on this Panasonic player, (a feature I could have opted for, for another $10 but due to financial constraints bought this one), this player has been great. Btw, anyone can set it up--it is THAT easy. Of most importance is the fact that I have rheumatoid arthritis (bad in my hands) so buttons whether on the player or the remote are important to me. The buttons on the front of this player itself are easy to work with. The remote has also been easy. I wish more companies would make physically user-friendly players, remotes and electronics with that in mind as Panasonic has done. This player was quality and affordable.

FAQs
  • Why can't a rented disc play in my player?
If you're having difficulty playing a disc that you have rented or borrowed, try a disc that you own to see if it plays. If it does play then there could be a problem with the borrowed or rented disc. Try cleaning the disc with a soft cloth to remove any fingerprints or smudges.
  • Is there a remote control code available that will enable me to use another manufacturer's remote to operate this device?
You will have to contact the remote's manufacturer for the codes needed.
  • What do I do in the unit has no power?
If the unit is not powering on, remove the power cord plug from any power strip it may be connected to and plug directly into the wall outlet.
  • Can I playback a DVD from another region other than Region "1", "0", or "play in all regions"?
No, this device is unable to playback a DVD from other regions.
