4K High-Precision Chroma Processor - Stunning color and detail

Technologies from the Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory, the foundation of Blu-ray Disc Research & Development, are applied to Panasonic‘s original 4K High-Precision Chroma Processor. 4K image color signals (4:2:0) are interpolated into 4K (4:4:4) by a multi-tap chroma process for natural textures and depth.

Online content is now 4K - Compatible with 4K Netflix and 4K YouTube

4K internet video is supported by YouTube and NETFLIX for a wider variety of high-quality content. These high-definition internet video signals are processed by Panasonic's 4K High-Precision Chroma Processor to achieve crisp, beautiful images.

    DMP-UB900 is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from EVERYBODY SHOULD GET A PANASONIC 4K PLAYER i chose the Panasonic UB-900 over the other 4K native players (skinny selection) because of the reviews. I was not disappointed. Santa brought it Christmas morning and I spent the rest of the day watching 4k, blue ray, and b&w dvd's on my Sony 4k TV. All were better px quality than on my old BR player. My internet speed is remarkably slow with data limits, so I must rely on discs for my 4k experience. I am so pleased with the player I chose. Thanks, Santa and Panasonic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality picture and sound I feel that this player right now is the only answer to super high def blu ray playing. I was looking at getting the new Oppo when it comes out this month, December 2016, but they have no intentions of having any streaming services at all. I want to be able to watch Netflix from my player and this Panasonic has all of the streaming services I would ever want. I needed a player to watch Netflix because our LG OLED tv would only output stereo channels, just 2, and I wanted at least Dolby 5.1 or better. I had the LG tech out to my house for 4 hours and they couldn't get more than stereo out of the optical out and the HDMI would not work with my Marantz receiver. I have an audiophile quality audio setup and did not want to watch Netflix in 2 channel audio and have to have my receiver synthesize 7.1 out of that. This Pansonic outputs 7.1 channels to my receiver and the sound is great. I watched The Martian on SHD disc and it was a great theater like experience. The colors are amazing and so much better than just watching 4k shows on Netflix, and 4k on Netflix is much better than the 1920x1080i you get on regular TV. This player meets and exceeds my expectations. It wasn't too hard to hook up and figure out the settings. I was able to see it in HDR too on my TV and that made a big difference. As soon as I hooked it up to the Ethernet it updated to the latest firmware. So easy. The chassis seems well built and the player weighs about 2x or more what my old run of the mill Sony Blu Ray player did. The player has separate Audio and Video HDMI ports and that is what I needed. You hook up the video to your TV and the audio to your receiver to get high def audio. I couldn't run both the audio and video through my receiver because my receiver is about 4 years old and isn't 4k compatible. The only frustrating thing is that you cant see volume changes and display of the audio format type you are playing on the screen as you watch the movie. You have to swtich back to the input you assigned the player to on the reciver to see that info and then you lose the picture, but once you get it set then you are good to go. Most receivers like mine allow you to set the sound input to auto though and it will automatically set to whatever the disc is coded with. If you are like me though you like to check on that and I like to set mine to a 7.1 output even if the disc is only 5.1, and it sounds a bit better. My only complaint would be that the price could be a bit lower.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Apps locked at 60z as of October 2016 The Bad: For a somewhat expensive device the apps are locked at 60hz. They don't display naitive 24p content at 24hz. The discs however do display 24p at 24hz. This needs to be addressed. The Good: Build quality is great, the remote is fantastic and backlit for those running dark theater rooms, the picture is great and the SDR adjustment slider is a nice feature for those who are still using SDR instead of HDR.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Raised the bar What an amazing player. I have this hooked up to my JVC RS 500. The picture is stunning for 4 k blu ray and Netflix. Upconversion is superb for 1080 p blu rays. Love that sound and picture outputs can be separate. Need to listen to my whole Cd collection again . The player meets and exceeds all expectations in every sense of the word. I really could not see that much of a difference till I had the Panasonic meet my JVC. Magic in my theatre now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excels at disc playback / lacking in other areas In my opinion, this is currently the best 4k blu-ray player on the market (as of Oct '16). It excels at disc playback. UHD and BD discs load quickly and look fantastic on my HDR capable display. Build quality is also very good, and it looks and feels like the high end player it is priced to be. However, it is (unfortunately) lacking in a number of areas, which keeps me from giving 5 stars across the board. The DLNA streaming support is much more limited than my previous player. For example, the UB900 doesn't support mkv files with VC1 encoded video. It also doesn't support mkvs with HVEC encoded video, which is weird since it aims to be a high-end 4k player. Another area where it falls short is online streaming services. It does support Netflix and Amazon, but Vudu is missing. Support for Netflix HDR (which was supposedly included in the latest fw update) doesn't work. These are things that can be fixed via fw/software update, but Panasonic still has some work to do. If you are looking for primarily a UHD/BD disc player, this is a very good choice. If you are also hoping to stream your hi-def library via DLNA or are hoping for an above Roku-level online streaming experience, make sure you read the spec sheet carefully.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded my high expectations! I elected to purchase this Panasonic UHD blu-ray player because of build quality, features, aesthetics, and THX certification. My parents have had a Panasonic blu-ray player for several years and have had zero issues with it. I have been an Oppo fan until now. This player is fantastic, in short. Load times are very fast for both 1080p and 4k discs, picture quality is unbelievable, and it has any and every feature you could ask for. I was just a little hesitant to spend the money for this player, but my hesitancy is long gone now that I have experienced its quality first-hand. I can't imagine a better movie watching experience than the one I have at home right now, with my 4k TV, my 7.2.2 sound, and my new Panasonic UHD player. I could not more highly recommend this player.
