Sponsorship includes the donation of Panasonic WhisperGreen and EcoVent Ventilation Fans

Newark, NJ (June 3, 2014)Panasonic Eco Solutions is joining building industry professionals in 35 states and more than 80 communities across the U.S. as a sponsor of Habitat for Humanity’s Home Builders Blitz to build, renovate and repair more than 250 homes. Panasonic Eco Solutions is providing WhisperGreen and EcoVent Fans for 300 total homes to be built during the Habitat for Humanity Builders Blitz week-long event, June 9-13.

The WhisperGreen ENERGY STAR® rated fans feature a DC motor with built-in intelligence called SmartFlow™ Optimum CFM Technology. When a WhisperGreen fan faces static pressure, its speed is automatically increased to ensure that the desired airflow (CFM) is actually achieved. This allows the fan to perform as rated.

EcoVent is an ENERGY STAR® rated vent fan that incorporates a Veri-Boost™ feature to ensure that designed airflow is achieved to help meet ASHRAE 62.2, ENERGY STAR 3.0 for Homes, LEED for Homes, CA Title 24, CalGreen and most green building programs.

“Panasonic Eco Solutions is delighted to donate 600 fans to Habitat for Humanity, in support of the company’s commitment to building a world where everyone has a safe and healthy place to live,” said Patricia Monks, Product Manager, Panasonic Eco Solutions North America. “Panasonic Eco Solutions is devoted to providing energy-efficiency solutions to all consumers, and is happy to partner with Habitat for Humanity on their affordable housing efforts.”

Home Builders Blitz 2014 is a partnership between Habitat for Humanity and the building industry to build homes across the nation. Builders and Habitat affiliates work closely to organize all aspects of building, including securing subcontractors and suppliers, fundraising and seeking donations of materials.  Builders participating in the program this year will work with more than 80 Habitat affiliates.

Helping launch the event from Jacksonville, Fla., Steve Thomas, Emmy Award-winning former host of “This Old House” and “Renovation Nation,” will help raise awareness of the event, traveling to Habitat’s Home Builders Blitz work sites to discuss how building professionals are taking an active role in helping to address the affordable housing needs of their communities.

Habitat launched its first national Home Builders Blitz week in 2006, four years after Habitat for Humanity Wake County (North Carolina) and local builder Tom Gipson recruited 12 home builders to donate their time to each build a house in five days. National blitz builds with professional builders were also held in 2008 and 2012. To date, more than 1,000 homes have been built, renovated or repaired under the initiative.
