USO Fort Drum to Participate in PMDA’s Portraits of Love Project to Provide Active Military Personnel with Family Portraits On November 20 And 21, 2015

New York USO Base, Fort Drum to Host Team of Volunteer Photographers Offering Free Family Portrait Sessions, as a Partner of PMDA’s Annual Portraits of Love Project

USO Fort Drum in Fort Drum, NY will participate in the 2015 Portraits of Love Project, an annual effort organized by the PhotoImaging Manufacturers and Distributors Association (PMDA). On Nov. 20th & 21st, Fort Drum will welcome active military personnel and their families to take part in a free family portrait session and receive free prints courtesy of member company, Shutterfly, Inc. Independent photographers across the country have volunteered their time to conduct free sittings at select military bases and USO locations. This program allows professional photographers to donate their time and talents to show appreciation for the nation’s military and their families, those serving both abroad and at home.

Photo sessions at Fort Drum will occur on Friday Nov. 20th and Saturday Nov. 21st at Building 10502, S. Riva Ridge Loop, Fort Drum, NY 13602. Sessions will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. EST and will last approximately 15 minutes. Following the session, families will receive an email link to access their portraits on Shutterfly. Families wishing to send prints to their loved ones deployed overseas can use an APO address when ordering through Shutterfly. Interested families should call (315) 777-8006 to schedule their session.

About PMDA
Founded in 1939, the PhotoImaging Manufacturers and Distributors Association (PMDA) has helped nurture the development and growth of photography for over 75 years. PMDA works to promote the history and future of the photoimaging industry, foster communication among member companies, and advocate photography to the general public. It conducts its affairs while maintaining the highest standards of integrity, honor and courtesy in the industry.

PMDA provides a forum throughout the business year for its membership to exchange ideas and learn new technologies and business trends in addition to administering programs that promote photography to the general public. Our programs and symposiums feature leading photo and imaging product suppliers and retailers, as well as financial analysts and technical experts. PMDA Portraits of Love is just one of the programs that PMDA presents to photographers to foster their creativity and enjoyment of photography.

PMDA has created a fantastic website, which is a center of expertise for photography. You can find great tips and techniques, celebrity photographers, contests, new product releases and projects galore - to name a few of the many features of the site.

PMDA also held their inaugural PMDA Salutes Photographers Who Give Back event at the Theatre of the School of Visual Arts in New York City in November, 2015. This event salutes professional and student photographers who use their talents to give back to a charity or organization that is important to them. As part of the salute, PMDA contributes financially to each of the photographer’s charities.

The night before the convention and trade show of CES International, PMDA holds an annual Awards Ceremony honoring outstanding industry individuals and technical achievements. From year to year we also schedule the PMDA Public Forum in New York City, where we are addressed by headline personalities from the communications, government or corporate business community on current topics. The 2016 PMDA Person of the Year Awards Event will take place on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at LiFE Nightclub at the SLS Hotel in Las Vegas.
