Panasonic Media Entertainment Company (PMEC), Division of Panasonic Corporation of North America, Announces LiveCTRL iPad Control and Switching Application for Integrated PTZ Cameras
App Pushes Video to Streaming Platforms and Social Media
Panasonic has announced the upcoming release of the LiveCTRL mobile application enabling control , streaming and switching of select Panasonic pan/tilt/zoom and ENG cameras from an iPad Pro device.
Panasonic’s current generation of AW PTZ cameras and connected camera technology like the AJ-PX270 P2 HD camcorder feature advanced video encoding and control for IP networks. LiveCTRL leverages this functionality and facilitates live streamed monitoring and control of up to four cameras. Camera control utilizes a newly-designed software joystick and remote operation interface for enabling smooth control and fine-tuning from a software interface.
Live streamed preview and control of a single camera (a free feature) inherits the current web user interface functionality with a more elegant and modern interface, with the addition of camera presets with thumbnail preview so users can quickly remember and trigger presets for PTZ cameras. A user can choose to upgrade to a multi-camera license that enables monitoring and preview of up to 4 cameras.
A single camera stream can be sent via LiveCTRL to streaming platforms and social media outlets such as Facebook Live. Users can upgrade to the premium license, which permits switching between multiple cameras, adding overlaid graphics, titles, or logos, and pushing a finished production to the same streaming platforms and social media outlets. Premium features such as the ability to time synchronize video streams, switch streams, and graphics overlays are powered by CinaMaker Technologies.
The Live CTRL application will be compatible with Panasonic AW-HE40, AW-UE70 and AW-HE130 PTZ cameras and the AJ-PX270 as input sources. In addition, users will be able to run a third-party application by CinaMaker on iPhones to add iPhone camera sources.
In terms of operation, Panasonic cameras, iPhone camera clients, and the LiveCTRL application running on an iPad Pro device will be connected on a network, further advancing Panasonic’s innovative network workflow.
LiveCTRL will be available in the iTunes store end of June 2017; basic features will be free, with extended features requiring payment via the in-app purchase.
