Panasonic Introduces New Aero PTZ Camera for Severe Weather and Mission Critical Applications at ISC West
Purpose-built design reliably delivers outstanding image quality in extreme environmental conditions
Panasonic, a leading provider of integrated security and video surveillance solutions, today announced the Aero PTZ (Pan/Tilt/Zoom) camera — an innovative addition to its comprehensive camera lineup. The Aero PTZ (WV-SUD638) is a new, environmentally rugged camera built to deliver high-quality Full HD surveillance images in extreme environmental conditions. The Aero PTZ is ideal for a variety of applications, including ports, transit, airports, city surveillance, highways or any area or location, that are prone to severe natural weather conditions or other factors that might wreak havoc on the operation and reliability of a typical video surveillance camera.
Debuting at ISC West 2016, the Panasonic Aero PTZ network camera provides reliable and sustainable operation for mission-critical and other applications even under severe weather conditions, from rain and snow to extreme temperatures and gale-force winds. Its highly durable, 360-degree aerodynamic spherical and rounded surface design minimizes wind drag for heightened visual stability, and its special lightweight fiberglass body enables the camera to be especially resistant to corrosion from direct exposure to wet conditions such as salt-sea sprays. Further, the cameras wide operating temperature and rugged construction means it’s resilient in arctic-to-desert climate ranges. The Full HD Aero PTZ incorporates a Video Stability Augment System (SAS) for exceptional image stabilization, virtually eliminating camera shake. It provides an exceptional high-wind load durability of 60m/s (approx. 134 mph) and can yield clear imagery with its optional long-range IR LED capability for superior performance in low -to no-light conditions of up to nearly 500 feet.
Featuring a high quality 30X optical zoom lens, the Aero PTZ camera’s integrated image stabilization and gyro-sensor dampens out external vibrations, such as those found in ports, piers and bridges. It also conforms to IP67 Ingress Protection (IP), which means the camera can sustain submersion in water for a short period of time. Aero PTZ’s built-in wiper keeps the lens clean in rain and snow and it also includes an integral heater to keep internal electronics operating at optimal temperatures as well as a defroster to keep the viewing lens clear.
“Aero PTZ is ready for virtually any camera installation possibility,” said Charlie Hare, Panasonic’s National Category Manager, Security and Mobile Video Solutions. “It can be deployed in some of the harshest environments and it’ll stand up to environmental and weather extremes while reliably producing sharp, crisp images, stabilized from high winds or vibrations,” he said.
Other key features of Aero PTZ include:
• Full HD resolution of 1080p at 60fps with a 30X optical zoom lens
• Super Dynamic function ensures a wider dynamic range compared to conventional cameras
• Sphere Vision 3D viewing provides 360-degree continuous panning and +/- 90-degree tilt range
• Wind load durability 60m/s (operation) to 80m/s (non-destructive)
• Fully water and dust proof conforming to IP67, NEMA -4X compliant and IK10 environmental specifications
• Operates in extreme hot and cold conditions from -58 °F to +131 °F (-50 ºC to +55 ºC)
Aero PTZ and other leading security technology will be on display at the Panasonic booth 14039 at ISC West 2016. To schedule a demo, please contact PanasonicSecurity@cohnwolfe.com.
